Jeanhy Shim is a seasoned real estate development executive, entrepreneur, and advisor with over 30 years of experience across Canada’s residential and mixed-use development industry.  She has worked at the intersection of market realities, public policy, and community outcomes, advising developers, financial institutions, municipalities, and public agencies on challenging housing initiatives.

 

Her career spans senior leadership roles with leading private developers, strategic advisory work for CEOs and boards, and nationally recognized housing market research and feasibility analysis. She has been directly involved in site acquisition, product development, pricing, financing strategy, sales & marketing, and the delivery of complex urban projects, giving her a rare end-to-end understanding of how housing gets built.  Jeanhy has also held influential leadership and governance roles in the industry and non-profit boards, including serving as TD Housing Affordability Leader-in-Residence at CivicAction, and as a federally-appointed Board Director of Waterfront Toronto and its Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee for seven years.

 

She now brings this wide breadth and depth of practical experiences to her role as Founder and CEO of Crosswalk Communities, where she is focused on delivering scalable, financially viable affordable rental housing using innovative development and financing models grounded in real-world execution.
